Autorotating Mars Lander Concept & Prototype
Project Overview
The Autorotating Lander is a fuelless rotorcraft concept developed for planetary exploration, designed to achieve controlled descent without propulsion. From initial concept to working prototype, the project combined aerodynamic modeling, structural design, and hands-on fabrication. Simulations and experimental testing optimized blade geometry and validated autorotation-based descent, while integrated sensors enabled detailed analysis of flight dynamics.
